Pepper answers your questions

  • What is your manufacturing process?
We are a 100% family business. We source ingredients, prepare recipes, and make treats and jerky in our garage converted into a commercial kitchen. We also carry out the packaging and preparation for delivery. For our accessories, we buy the materials in large quantities (bulk) and we take care of the manufacture of the products according to our models and designs. We do the layout for a durable, high-quality end product. However, a professional seamstress makes our scarves in order to have a consistent product every time. However, we are responsible for the choice of fabrics, the design, the cut of the scarves, the installation of snaps and labels, as well as the packaging.
  • When will I receive my order?
We will try to finalize your orders as soon as possible. Most wholesale (retail) orders will be completed between four (4) and six (6) weeks. You will be informed throughout the process of when you will receive your products.
  • What is your production time versus shipping time?
Two (2) to four (4) weeks are required for the production of your order before it is shipped. Delivery times for packages in Canada are five (5) to ten (10) business days. Packages are shipped by Canada Post. Each order will have its tracking number.
  • Is it possible to return an order?
Our return policy is accepted for a period of 30 days after you place your order. Returns are accepted on in-stock, unworn or unused merchandise in original condition and with tags attached. Bags of treats or jerky must be unopened and in original condition. Please note that items are no longer eligible for return or exchange if the original tags have been removed or broken or if the item has been worn by the animal. Shipping and delivery charges for return or exchange are the responsibility of the buyer. For the return, you will be charged a 20% restocking fee.
  • Do you offer bulk purchase for retailers?
Yes, definitely. Please contact us directly by email at info@ohlaladesophie.com indicating the following information: * Name of your company and your address; * Your name, job title, phone number, email, etc.; * Your website; * Your interest in purchasing our products.
  • Are you looking for ambassadors for your products?
At the moment we don't need models or ambassadors for our products. On the other hand, if you have a link with someone who is interested, please let us know by email at info@ohlaladesophie.com
  • Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we offer several discounts on our products throughout the year. DISCOUNTS apply to new purchases only and cannot be combined with other discounts. We do not offer retroactive discounts for orders previously purchased without a discount. We will not bear the shipping costs for a returned item in order to repurchase it in reduction.
  • What are the ingredients?
We source the ingredients for our treats from local producers. It is very important for us to know the source of our ingredients in order to ensure their quality and good taste. We buy directly from the producers themselves. All of our ingredients are human food grade, premium quality and each treat contains ingredients that are good for your pet's health. Our meats come directly from a local slaughterhouse, and our fruits are fresh, frozen or mashed.
  • My dog has allergies. Can he eat your treats?
Yes, mostly, but it depends on your pet's allergies. It is strongly recommended to consult the list of ingredients for each of our cookie flavors. Peanut Butter: Not present in Chick-Cop (chicken), Liverpool (liver) and our Jerky flavors. Egg: Not present in Bananarama and Blueberry-O fruit flavors.
  • Do you have cat treats?
At this time we don't have any specific treats for cats, but our Beef and Chicken Jerky are perfect for breaking into small pieces and giving to cats as treats. However, stay tuned, because very soon, we will introduce a whole new category of treats that will appeal to both dogs and cats.
  • What is the purpose of the white sachet in the treat bags?
The bag inside our treat bags is used to stabilize the product. This sachet is an oxygen absorber which serves to eliminate the oxygen component in the air. This helps us greatly reduce the risk of mold forming on our treats over time. Once the bag is opened, you can discard the sachet as it will not be as effective in preserving the product. It is also suggested to keep the bags of treats in a cool, dry place after opening and to refrigerate the jerky once the bag is opened.
  • Where do you make the treats?
The manufacturing of treats and jerky is done entirely in La Shop d'Ohlala by Sophie Pet Market Inc., in Edmundston, New Brunswick. Our commercial kitchen allows us to manufacture everything at home. We also perform all quality control testing of our products to ensure that you have a product that is stable and durable.
  • How to be sure of the ideal size?
We have a basic chart to identify each scarf size. Our scarves all have snaps that allow the scarf to be adjusted. To adjust the scarves according to your pet's neck, you have three (3) different adjustment options that you can do with the snaps. You can also tie a simple knot and then fasten the snap to hold it in place. This avoids making a double knot and breaking the scarf. If the scarf is a bit long, or just to give a different look, fold the top section down, and fasten the scarf normally with the press studs. Please see SIZE section.
  • How to maintain the scarves?
It is best to wash them by hand or in the gentle cycle of the washing machine, and in cold or lukewarm water preferably. It is then recommended to dry them flat or hang them. The cotton scarves are all pre-washed. However, flannel scarves are not pre-washed.
  • What fabrics do you use to make the scarves?
Our cotton scarves are reversible and are made of two (2) different complementary fabrics. The exposed fabric has a bigger print and the one on the back is usually more subtle and discreet. For flannel scarves, we use a flannel that looks like a woolen knit and all scarves offered are frayed. A seam prevents the enlargement of the fraying. Our flannel scarves are double layers of the same fabric and patterns on both (2) sides.
  • What is BioThane?
The BioThane is a leatherette product, which is a polymer-coated nylon webbing. This strap is high performance and can withstand the environment. It is a very durable, waterproof, odorless and washable product.
  • What hardware is used?
Currently, the hardware used for our BioThane products is silver plated or black plated. Please note that the finish of plated metal hardware components may wear and change color over time. This is normal and not covered by the hardware store warranty.
  • How should BioThane accessories be cleaned and maintained?
The BioThane can be cleaned with warm water and soap. For stubborn stains, you can replace the soap with white vinegar or rubbing alcohol.
  • What do the names of your products mean in BioThane?
Each of our BioThane products is named after one of our pets and some are named after our cousins' animals.
  • Do you do custom orders?
The MY DESIGN section is not yet activated for our BioThane products. The option of custom design will be offered to you later, a few times a year, for a limited period. However, until the My Design option is available on our website, you can reach us directly at info@ohlaladesophie .com to let us know about your order. You will be charged $15 for custom orders. Also, no returns, exchanges or refunds will be offered for custom orders. Please allow approximately two (2) to four (4) weeks for your product design before shipping.
